SailingNow is owned, run and developed by Derbex Ltd., a software company, registered in the United Kingdom, since 1989 -we can write software or build websites for you. Jeremy Hoyland, the director of Derbex, is a keen sailor and diver and this site is a result of the collision of his professional and leisure interests. He has crewed on yachts in the U.S., U.K., Carribean and the Mediteranean and hopes this site gives others the chance to do the same. He currently owns the yacht 'Touchstone of Parkstone', it is the yacht on the home page -not the one growing out of his ear here, and will be using his own crewing service to find crew in the season.
SailingNow started life as an internet magazine in 1998, it went through a 'near death experience' and changed its' name to Free as the Wind in 2000. The crew list has been running since the beginning, and we have now decided that it would be better existing in its own right, so we have resurrected the SailingNow name for it.
