Welcome to 'Free as the Wind' a new internet sailing magazine. I am Jeremy Hoyland and I was the technical editor, and a founding member, of Sailing Now. When that magazine folded I was left with a feeling of unfinished business and a desire to try again and this is the result. It's early days yet, and some of what you see will be retreads from Sailing Now, but let me tell you how I'd like to see things go.

Firstly, The magazine needs a high standard of content, in depth features and articles on all aspects of sailing are what I feel that we should be about.

Secondly, I'd like a high degree of reader participation, maybe even 'ownership'. I can't, and don't want to, run this all by myself for any great length of time and I'd like others to get involved -in pretty much any capacity that they are interested in. Just don't kid yourself that there's any money to be made. Perhaps we might be able to work in some sort of Linux, FSF type arrangement, if you're enough of a techie to know about that, if not, don't worry, we can work it out. There's lots of fun stuff to trff to try out writing, coding, video-ing, graphic design (boy, do we need it) and what's the other thing -SAILING! So get involved either on a one-off or an ongoing basis, email me today.

Just to clear things up, currently we don't pay for articles or contributions, we will fully credit any and all material used and give links to contributors web pages and email addresses. If anyone is interested in sponsoring parts of the site then I'd be happy to talk about it. That's enough blather from me, why not head over to the other frame and see what's new.

Cheers,

Jeremy,
